The North Grenville Trail system was launched to link together 150 kilometres of trails, roads, walkways and waterways throughout the municipality. With so many opportunities to get around to choose from it’s easy to get out and explore year-round. In addition to walking and hiking trails, numerous safe and well-maintained roads provide the opportunity for adventure on horseback and bicycle.
In winter, grab snowshoes or skis and leave some tracks! Parking is available at trailheads and designated areas throughout the municipality.
You’ll find a variety of loops and routes here, including the Kemptville Campus Agroforestry Trail, the Ferguson Forest Centre Management Trail, the Limerick Forest Chalet Trail, the Tip-to-Tip Trail at the Burritt’s Rapids lockstation and more. Interpretive signage can be found on some routes.
The Rideau Heritage Route also traverses North Grenville, allowing you to explore many of the scenic villages and lock stations. Several cycling routes have been developed with a variety of lengths and routes that offer great sightseeing. North Grenville is a trailhead for numerous cycle routes thanks to its beautiful and quiet country roads (many are paved) and relatively flat terrain. The area also has many hidden geocaches for those looking for outdoor adventure.
